The Northern Slopes are opened during a Quest you get from Duinlan's ghost, who is in the Catacombs There are so many keys! Several can be taken from guards, often hidden under their handkerchiefs, while some simply lay on tables or cupboards some are in chests which might need another key to open them.) That Catacombs shortcut tunnel can also only be opened after you first get to the Harbour area and find a key there (again: if I remember correctly. I think it was through the Northern Slopes rather than the Catacombs that I first managed to get in the Harbour (on the other side of the Elevator Gate that is). There's a lever there that opens the door, and the compass is at the end of the passage behind it. Belt of the rampart guard who you also steal the instructions to get to Faustus from. So isn't the second shortcut near the latter leading to the Shores or something.? If so then it would mean you need to access the Shores first before having a chance to get the key. Whilst looking at the ladder up to that door, go to the right and a short way into the tunnel with the poison purple mushrooms - use clothespin, thief's mask, or plague doctor mask to buy enough time to pick the mushrooms and remove the poison cloud. You need a key to enter the harbour, and the key for it is inside the harbour.įrom memory there is another door leading to a shortcut from the catacombs that is useless until you get that key.
